📍Bears Den Overlook is a rocky outcropping on the Appalachian Trail in Bluemont, Virginia.

The open ledge offers a beautiful, open westward view of the Shenandoah Valley. In the distance, the Blue Ridge Mountains stretch across the horizon.

There are different routes and levels for the Bears Den Overlook hike, below are the easiest way to the overlook.

• An easy walk from the Bears Den Day Use parking area.

• A fairly easy half-mile hike from the large Snickers Gap parking area on Route 7. The short trail has a few steep and rocky sections.

If you want a longer challenging hike, there is a route combining Bears Den with a hike north to Ravens Rock.

📌 it gets busy so I suggest getting there early.

📍Hone Quarry Waterfall
🥾4.7 miles (total out & back)
💪🏻Moderate
🐶 dog-friendly

Notes:
📌 There is no cell service - I suggest downloading the map through Alltrails

📌 It was a nice hike from the quarry, but if you have a 4runner, you can drive up the rocky road and cut the trek for about 2-3 miles. We saw one sedan drive all the way (I DO NOT recommend 😅😅😅), we listened to others' advice to trek it because of how rough the road is.

📌There’s lots of bugs so make sure use and bring bug spray.

📌 Only saw two other people the entire hike. We had the falls to ourselves until almost sunset.
